About

I am a Brooklyn-based bassist and composer, and recipient of the 2025 and 2026 Local Arts Support grant from Brooklyn Arts Council. I co-host the “Jazz in the Basement” Monday night jam session at Sour Mouse, alongside guitarist Charles Colizza. This session has been a hub of cultivation for the jazz scene in Manhattan’s Lower East Side since 2022. I have performed regularly with musicians including Stacy Dillard, Marius Van Den Brink, Duane Eubanks, Chris Hemingway, Takuya Kuroda, Anwar Marshall, Hina Oikawa, Ben Freidkin, Seoyeon Im, Matt La Von, Lisa Liu, Celia Berk, Balint Varga, and have performed one-off gigs alongside Jason Moran, Ali Jackson, Yotam Silberstein, Spike Wilner, Alysha Umphress, and many others. My first professional album as bandleader, Bright Colors, is a musical exploration of the concept of mortality, and a celebration of the spirits of my departed loved ones.

Music

I typically play a wide range of genres in the jazz idiom: bebop, hard bop, post-bop, jazz-fusion, free jazz, Latin jazz, and manouche/Gypsy jazz. My original compositions draw on the traditions of jazz, rock, funk, Western classical, and Yoruba/Lucumí worship music.
