Kev's Place is excited to announce the resumption of live jazz with accomplished jazz trumpeters Stéphane Clément and Nicolaus Gelin.
Steph and Nic perform written and improvised trumpet material over composed atmospheric tracks. Their music unfolds slowly and intentionally, with spacious textures, sustained tones, and carefully shaped harmonies. Structurally, the performances resemble a sound bath or immersive listening session, inviting audiences into deep contemplation while focusing on delicate sonic details, subtle overtones, and the interplay between breath, electronics, and sonic space. The result is an intimate, transportive experience that bridges contemporary jazz, ambient music, and meditative sound practice.
What's the music?
A continuous 45-minute sound installation built from live trumpet, processed textures, and spatial sound design. The set moves through multiple phases. The opening uses long tones, low-frequencies, and slow harmonic shifts to settle the body. Ressonnance introduces layered loops, filtered noise, and melodic fragments to create lift and focus. Material is composed, developed through improvisation and iterative sound design in Logic Pro and Borderlands. The performance adapts in real time to the room, with dynamic control of volume, density, and frequency range.
