Travel across continents and centuries with Noe Music this weekend at From Mali to America—a vibrant meeting of West African musical traditions and adventurous American collaboration.
At the heart of the afternoon are master kora player Yacouba Sissoko, percussionist Idrissa Koné, and Grammy Award-winning cellist Mike Block, a longtime member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Ensemble. Drawing on centuries-old traditions of musical storytelling, the trio brings kora, cello, talking drum, and calabash into lively conversation, trading melodies and rhythms across cultures. The result is music that feels at once ancient and immediate, rooted and restless, full of discovery and irresistible motion. Regular tickets are typically $45, but Groupmuse Nights Out brings you in for $10 and up. 🌍🎶
