What happens when four extraordinary string players, each with roots in a different musical world, come together for one night? Four Radicals, presented by Crowden brings **violinists Owen Dalby and Alexi Kenney, violist Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, and cellist Oliver Herbert* together for a program that pushes chamber music to its limits. Through Groupmuse Nights Out, join them at the Crowden School in Berkeley on November 2 for an evening of bold, boundary-crossing music.
The program moves from Gabriella Smith’s playful, energetic Carrot Revolution to Alfred Schnittke’s striking String Quartet No. 3, before culminating in Beethoven’s monumental String Quartet in B-flat major, Op. 130, with the famously demanding Grosse Fuge restored as its finale. Across three works spanning radically different musical worlds, these four acclaimed artists explore how tradition can be challenged, transformed, and brought to life anew. 🎻
