Full program notes
Trikaya is an Indo-African world music trio that bridges two of the world’s most ancient storytelling traditions through rhythm, melody, and improvisation. The ensemble brings together the rich musical heritages of West Africa and North India, creating a dialogue that is both timeless and contemporary.
The program features music inspired by Malian and Indian folk traditions and classical-influenced melodies, performed on Ngoni (African Harp), Percussion, Bansuri (Indian Bamboo Flute), and Vocals. It also includes Kabir bhajans, devotional songs that reflect on inner truth and the search for meaning. Through these diverse influences, Trikaya invites audiences to experience music as a living, breathing conversation between cultures, histories, and emotions.
