I'm a Brooklyn-based cellist and composer who writes and performs music for cello/loop pedal and chamber music, and also plays traditional repertoire, ranging from Bach and Britten to contemporary music. My debut album, Dream Loop Spells, features my Sonatina for Cello and Piano and Puppet Music for cello and loop pedal, alongside Janáček's Pohádka and Philip Glass's Piano Etudes, performed with pianist Paul Jacobs. I've appeared at venues that include Art Bath and The New York Historical Society in NYC, and The Lilypad and the Art Complex Museum in Massachusetts.

Music

I play my own classical compositions alongside standard repertoire, from Bach to Brahms and Britten. I write for cello and loop pedal, as well as a variety of chamber ensembles. My music grows out of the classical tradition and is often characterized by propulsive rhythms and expressive harmonic color.

A solo cello program might include a Bach suite, movements by Britten, Kodály, or Saariaho, and original music for cello and loop pedal.

A cello and piano program might include a Brahms sonata, a Baroque work by Vivaldi or Geminiani or twentieth-century sonata by Britten, Shostakovich, or Schnittke, and original works for cello and piano.
